there is a fairly large difference between players based on sound quality alone: i use an good separate outboard dac with a decent amplifier & speakers with reasonable quality interconnects & aimp beats winamp into the weeds no contest.i use .flac encoded music some of the time now & aimp plays that great ~ if you are using a built in sound chip & or cheap sound card & or plastic speakers you probably wont notice the difference but also wont know what's on the audio you play either ~aimp does not have any associated junk-ware supplied with it as does winamp so you don't need to go to the effort of slimming it down. the are other audio players that are better than winamp on sound quality perhaps most of them actually ~you can do far, far better than this ~in linux audacious does a pretty good job ~(true media program neophytes ~ someone who is willing to pay a small amount to at least have some idea what the original recording sounded like, not really an obsession is it?)edit: @ roj - i'll give deadbeef a try tomorrow in linux, thanks for the tip :-)edit 2 @ roj - major increase in detail etc. with deadbeef, i was always a little dissatisfied with music on linux, that's now sorted - thanks :-)

this application (a bitcoin wallet) works perfectly, and is designed well. you can debate whether btcs will explode or implode in value, but this does work as good bitcoin wallet. further, this version is a massive improvement to the ui, so it is being actively developed. better, it is open source and multi-platform. what's to complain about? ah, i'm sure someone will find something ;pone issue: it does not handle upgrades well under windows, leaving the old version laying around, causing some confusion. the wallet is properly imported/discovered, so no worries there.

@leisure_larry: i have never had a problem with support. i have had 2 problems transferring my registration and within 24 hrs i got a response both times. so i don't know and i don't think you know what you're talking about.@humbleuser: they still have 82xx series which is the old interface. their newest is 8227. i purchased the bluray copy only, for 45 on sale and it's good for 2 years with free upgrades. no problems, no coasters. 99% of people here pirate software anyway so why complain about it.

for lossless encoding you can use flac or wavpack. it's pretty much the same, as the encodings are, well, lossless. ;) mp3 is always lossy, so there are differences between the codecs. lame encoder being somewhat the best of them. cheers!

the new 5.0 address book is just out-of-touch with users needs.but the notes feature keep being great.and it is one of the few notes software that is portable, doesn't heavily rely on ms-specific stuff, and has proven working perfectly on linux (using wine).

fyi on previous comment: bcj & bcj2 is included with lzma, which i assume most people will be choosing with nsis. the most critical thing is to enable block support so the whole bunch of files is essentially tar'd together first. this improves compression substantially since the lz 'dictionary'/window spans across all the files.
