going downhill: as below it try's to add a tool-bar & gives ads after each use, i would prefer the option to purchase rather than have crap added to my pc - looking elsewhere now ~gom player is now ad-ware both on installation & in usage - therefore no longer freeware ~

i see references to fairuse4wm version 1.3, but all that i can find for download is version 1.0.3 -- is this the same thing?if it is, it is no longer working. it used to work, but now i get a "requires a different key" message. advice?

i have used paint shop pro since version 3. i have all the jasc versions through8.01. corel should review all of these versions bring the best features of each one into a paint emphasized version based solely on the original jasc approach.for instance, the various behaviors of the built in effects from each version could be selected from menus like anything else is. that way you could combinesay a distortion filter from an early version to be further modified by the warp tool and come with a wider range of results. don't "corel-ize it and bloat it, but let the jasc spirit come through. charge 99 bucks and blow everybody else out of the water. my rating reflects corel's attempt at a photo editor only.

well,i guess that for xp os it's the time to r.i.p.there's no reason to span the use of an os over two decades.then, if someone argue that windows 8 is just for tablet i reply: if you leave it intact with no tweaking / customizations yes you're right.but as i use no tablet nor i will, i tweaked the windows 8 in order 2 remove all the metro things it allowed me (nearly 100%).i'm a fanatic of the free of cost cloud computing, seeing it like a way to not buy internal / external hd, optical discs (cds, dvds, blue-rays), optical disc burners, etc.reviewing ms office 2013: moreover of some metro ui it's pretty much like its predecessor (2010) at first glance.points of disadvantage:1) it comes with just a small web installer (the complete suite is downloaded by the installer itself, not by the final user).2) outlook database for email addresses imap/smtp configs is still the 2010's old one; mozilla thunderbird has a huge database with almost any email server available on the earth. why ms don't use the same db as per the mozilla's one? who knows.these are my reasons to give it just 4 stars instead than a full 5 star rating.

pros: powerful and professional, no doubt about that. integrates with ms office and has a great interface.cons: awful install times. slows down your system when running. slow performance. only works in us dollars. only works for us businesses.for microsoft, poor.

a marked improvement over the 1st beta. not crashing on me and it is noticeably faster than 2.14. one way i can tell is when i am logged into my ebay account. if i click on items the activity summary (buy, lists, sell), they open smoothly and fast. previous versions would lag, stutter or just not look fluid. rendering is near instant now and i'm using an ancient latitude d610. suck on that chrome. some real good stuff coming up in version 2.17 (a.k.a firefox 20).

while not an absolute 1 to 1 replacement for ms office, it is a top office suite with some upsides and a few downsides compared to the ms suite.
