i never waste time backing movies up to dvd rather i use clonedvd mobile to convert them to divx and use my sony playstation 3 that is attached to my tv for viewing. average file size is around 1.5 gb per movie. i also backup to several mobile devices including my daughters innotab which presently contains about 25 movies on one 16gb card.

vistart solves this piece of sh1t of an interface quite well even in the rp, makes the desktop somewhat approachable. but even that can't save it from feeling like a frankostein.sorry, there are good concepts floating around but the implementation has left a lot to be desired for non-touch users.you know what? it would have been much less jarring if the start screen could have the same wallpaper as the desktop. then sort of the overlay could slide in and ta-da! not so nerve crushing!

chris tv contains trojan horse relevantknowledge. it installs anyhow, it does not uninstall. it starts a local proxy to monitor and redirect your internet traffic. it may do more evil things. it restarts automatically whenever you kill the process. i hope renaming the c:\program files\relevantknowledge directory will get rid of it.

i did not have any problems installing these drivers or the multimedia center. the tv now works - finally. i have two minor problems with these new drivers:the only problem that i have with them is a bsod when d3d tries to resize my screen to start a game. the interesting this about this bsod is that it does not happen everytime. it seems to randomly occur about 1 out of 4 tries starting games. but since in the readme.txt, it mentions this as a known bug, i'll accept this error....at least they're admitting to it, and must be working on it.the other problem i'm having is with the recording software in the multimedia center. i've tried recording some 30 min tv shows, i always get about 10-60secs recorded, then i get a nice bsod. ati has said that the recording part of the multimedia center is still being worked on, and realizes that it's a problem. but hey....i still have the tv part working, which is the most important part.

this includes the failed ms-ooxml converter which took two years to create, just in time for microsoft to abandon it in favor of odf in sp2 coming later this year. ouch.

shodan816, this is clearly explained on the main web page of this tool :this cleanup tool will delete shared files and registry keys used by other versions of the .net framework. if you run the cleanup tool, you will need to perform a repair/re-install for all other versions of the .net framework that are on your computer or they will not work correctly afterwards.

not sure why this is just showing up now, i received this update about 3 weeks ago... anyway, great update, haven't ran into a single issue. on macpro dual quad 2.8 running 10.5.3. gotta love how m$ writes their flagship application suite better on a mac then on their own windows platform.
